Privacy
Your voice stays with you.
Fredon has no accounts, doesn't track you and collects no personal data. Everything the app hears is analyzed on your phone, and none of it leaves.
The microphone
Fredon uses the microphone to recognize the notes you sing and the chords you play. Sound is analyzed in real time, on your device, then discarded. It is never recorded or sent, except when you record a melody yourself: that melody is then kept on your phone, in the app, until you delete it.
What's kept on your phone
- your settings (instrument, note names, mic sensitivity);
- your chord charts, recorded melodies and favorite chords;
- the date you first opened the app, used for the free first day, and the date your subscription ends.
This information never leaves your device. Deleting the app erases it, except for the first-open date, which is kept in your iPhone's Keychain so the free day can't be claimed again.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase go through the App Store. Apple handles the payment: Fredon never sees your payment details or your Apple ID. The app only asks your iPhone whether a subscription is active.
What Fredon doesn't do
- no account to create;
- no ads;
- no analytics and no tracking, in the app or on this site;
- no data sold or shared.
This site
The demo on this site runs in your browser: sound from your mic is analyzed locally and sent nowhere. The site doesn't use cookies. Its host, Vercel, may briefly keep technical logs (IP address, pages requested) to keep the service running and secure.
Your rights and contact
Since Fredon collects no personal data, there's nothing on our end to access, correct or delete. For any question, write to contact@fredon.app.
